Description
In the film that launched the James Bond saga, Agent 007 battles mysterious Dr. No, a scientific genius bent on destroying the U.S. space program. As the countdown to disaster begins, Bond must go to Jamaica, where he encounters beautiful Honey Ryder, to confront a megalomaniacal villain in his massive island headquarters.
Reviews:
Author: GenerationofSwineIt's the one that started it all isn't it? So of course there is that faction that says that Dr. No is the all time best 007 movie ever made... because credit I guess. I still like the From Russia with Love v Goldfinger debate. But what you have in Dr. No is the true, pompous, womanizing, alcoholic, chain smoking, gambling, brand conscious cold blooded assassin 007... you know, the Bond that we are SUPPOSED to have. The Bond that was intended to be written. He's the ultimate Bond because he's the one that won't hesitate to kill anyone and shows no real remorse over it. And he is lined up with all the tropes and the over-the-top completely unrealistic plots and villainy that makes 007 so watchable.
